What is Shading?
Shading created a background for the Microbladed hairstrokes by adding color in between them. Shading can also be done alone, for a soft makeup look. It creates a more defined shape and fullness to the brows. I recommend shading for people who:
Have combination or oily skin. The natural oils in your skin cause the Microbladed hairstrokes to fade or blur over time, with more oily skin this can happen faster. Having shading helps hold the shape of the brow even as they fade for better retention in between annual touch ups
Have uneven brows. If one brow is higher than the other or there are areas where the hair is very dense compared to others, shading can create a background to the Microbladed hairstrokes to even the brows out.
Wear brow makeup every day, and may be used to or prefer a darker makeup look. Microblading alone is a very daytime look. If clients are used to daily brow makeup, they sometimes are used to a more filled, defined makeup look.
Have previous permanent makeup that needs to be covered up or blended in. Previous permanent makeup sometimes needs color corrections or shape adjustments with shading.
